Mexico picked up a win against a district opponent, but where they were playing was more important.
The Bulldogs played their first matches on their new courts, which are located next to Gallop Field on the high school campus, after starting the season at the Fairgrounds Park courts. They defeated Holt 7-2 on Thursday to improve their dual record to 5-5.
In a district format, Mexico won all three doubles matches. Brixton Goerne and Skylar Shaw won 8-0, Brandon Rodriguez and Landon Whitworth were victorious 8-0, and Owen Wilburn and Esteban Sebastian won 8-3.
In singles, Goerne, Rodriguez and Wilburn each won their matches 2-0 and Sebastian won 2-1.
In junior varsity, the pair of Jonathan St. Martin and Antonio Mendoza won 6-1, Stephen Kerr and Sebastian Matuz won 6-2, Alex Matuz and Brady McCoy won 6-0, and Logan Munford and Diego Hernandez won 6-2.
Mexico has three more regular season duals before hosting the North Central Missouri Conference tournament and the Class 1 District 3 individual tournament.
