After weeks of speculation, the Audrain healthcare picture got a little clearer after it was announced Audrain Community Hospital - Noble Health, now has new owners.

Platinum Team Management, a hospital and medical management company, has announced an agreement to assume control of two Missouri hospitals, Audrain Community Hospital, Mexico and Callaway Community Hospital, Fulton, along with nine medical clinics from Noble Health.

The facilities were temporarily closed on March 25 and Platinum will begin the process of reopening as soon as possible.
“The healthcare access that these two generational hospitals have provided to residents of rural Missouri is critical,” said a spokesperson, “not just for cases of emergency, but basic medical needs.”

Melissa Upshaw of Platinum Neighbors, Platinum Hospitals’ managing organization, explains their mission in rescuing hospitals as such in terms of a “medical desert,” where Platinum Team and their affiliates hope to bring sustenance to regions in need of healthcare services.

“We’re there to keep local, quality healthcare in the area,” says Platinum Hospitals president, Cory Countryman. “Without these hospitals, the local patient population would have to travel an hour from the area to receive healthcare services.”

Led by Countryman, both Audrain Community Hospital and Callaway Community Hospital will continue to provide healthcare services for the otherwise limited medical access region, including ICU, surgery, in-patient rehab, women’s health, pain management, diagnostic services, infusion clinics, sports medicine, wound and limb salvaging, among others.

Under the leadership of Platinum Hospitals, they will rework the operations, revitalize the facilities, provide sound medical management and innovation. This will allow both Audrain and Callaway facilities to continue their mission providing high-quality healthcare to the residents of the surrounding Missouri communities.
