The Mexico girls golf team has a new head coach.
The Lady Bulldogs will have a familiar face as Becca Bates takes over the girls program after already coaching the boys in the spring for five years before a sixth season later in the school year.
Bates said she has at least eight girls on the roster this season and hopes to have more by the start of school. Ella Connell, Bentley McCarty, Brenda Matuz, Khloe Bohl, Cassandra Young and Reagan Hayes are key returners making “great strides.” Newcomers are Ray Hoffman and Zoey Norton.
“The team is a very eager group of ladies,” Bates said. “They are curious and ready to learn and get better every day.”
