It was a different night with different lineups in Mexico.
The Mexico girls defeated Centralia 60-24 under the spotlight in Gooch gym on Thursday in Mexico in a rematch from an earlier 53-30 loss to the Lady Panthers. There were three matches this time around and 11 forfeits.
Zuri Crews pinned Harper Mahan at 135 pounds, and Abby Bowen pinned Kyleigh Dollens at 145. Centralia picked up a victory when Zaleigh Poe pinned Kendal Sons at 170.
Mexico head coach Tony Senor said Mexico wrestled well in the limited action.
“Zuri Crews is learning and wrestling much better,” Senor said. “We bumped Abby Bowen up to 145 to get a match for her. She was very patient and methodical. She took a chance to throw, and it paid off big.”
Centralia head coach Mike Adkisson said his team is dealing with sickness and injuries. The Lady Panthers had six dressed to wrestle compared to 10 in the previous meeting with Mexico, and there were eight matches between the two teams in the first dual.
