On Tuesday, Nov. 14, at about 7:00 p.m., observant residents notified the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) about some suspicious activity involving people looking in vehicles in the area of the 300 block of North Washington. Around 10:30 p.m., information from other residents led to the arrest of Steven A Parker, age 29 of Columbia. Evidence was collected, linking Parker to some thefts in Mexico and Columbia. Parker was processed at MPSD and released. MPSD is continuing the investigation into Parker’s activities and cases will be forwarded to the Audrain County Prosecutor for warrants and charges.
Anyone with information about Parker’s recent activities or any other crime is asked to contact CRIMESTOPPERS at (800) 392-TIPS or (800) 392-8477 or MPSD at (573) 473-5800 or (573) 581-2100.
Residents are reminded that people arrested or charged with a crime are simply accused of the crime and are to be considered innocent until proven guilty.
