Mexico School District 59 and Van-Far R-1 have extended COVID-19-related closures through May 1, while Community R-6 will remain closed through at least April 17.

A notice was sent out Thursday afternoon to parents in the Mexico and Van-Far School Districts. Community R-6 made its announcement Wednesday.

Mexico School district will continue to provide meals to students. Parents will soon be able to pick up meals without a child present. Meals still need to be reserved through the district. Updated policies will be announced next week, with the updated procedures going into effect mid-April.

Parents in the Van-Far district will need to make arrangements to drop off and collect the next round of supplemental work assignments. Food service for students continues.

Community R-6 will continue to provide breakfast and lunch to all children age 18 and younger at no charge and provide Wi-Fi to each of the four municipalities served by the district.
