No injuries occurred after Mexico Public Safety Department personnel responded to a fire March 24 in the 1400 block of South Coal Street.
Shortly before 3:55 p.m., MPSD crews responded to a fire that included grass and leaves burning along a property line between two city lots, according to a MPSD news release.
The fire had reached unattached garages on each property and was contained and extinguished with each garage sustaining minor fire damage.
Investigators said the fire was caused by “juveniles playing with a lighter,” the release stated, and MPSD continues its investigation.
