On Saturday, Oct. 14, at approximately 10:15 a.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) received information that a runaway juvenile from Nebraska was possibly in Mexico. Responding officers stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of West Jackson and found four people inside. One was Carson Ganaway, age 18, from Marcelene, MO. There was also a 17-year-old male juvenile from Mexico, a 16-year-old female juvenile from Nebraska, and a 15-year-old female juvenile from Nebraska in the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that both the juveniles from Nebraska had been reported as runaways, the vehicle had been reported stolen from Nebraska, and the group had been involved in a disturbance in the 4800 block of South Clark earlier in the day. The 12th Circuit Court-Juvenile Division responded to assist with the investigation and eventually took custody of the Nebraska juveniles. Investigation into what all occurred is ongoing.
