On Friday, December 8, 2023, at approximately 2:07a.m., the Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to the 1000 block of Muldrow after an alert passerby reported seeing a fire under the front porch of a home. Responding personnel located the fire and extinguished it with the porch suffering minor fire damage. The resident, who was sleeping at the time, was unaware of the fire. The apparent cause was careless disposal of smoking material. There were no injuries from the incident.
