North Callaway lost its first Eastern Missouri Conference game but battled to the top of the standings again.
The Thunderbirds clinched at least a share of their third straight EMO championship on April 30 with a 5-2 win at Silex (11-4, 4-4 EMO). North Callaway (16-5, 9-1 EMO) scored three runs in the sixth inning for the seniors to tie the school record of three straight conference titles.
Tucker Sheets finished with two RBIs, Coltyn O’Neal went 2-for-2 with two walks and one RBI, and Jude Shryock finished 2-for-3 with a run. Chett Bassett pitched six innings with six walks, five strikeouts and two earned runs. All four of Silex’s four hits and two runs happened in the first inning.
North Callaway has a shot at an outright championship depending on the results of the final two conference games for Montgomery County (13-6, 7-1 EMO).
