North Callaway R-1 School District announced the promotion of Jesse McKee as the new head baseball coach.

At North Callaway, McKee has served as an assistant softball coach for eight years and an assistant baseball coach for five years, making him a trusted and familiar presence within the program and the broader school community.

A graduate of Smith-Cotton High School, McKee went on to play collegiate baseball at Crowder College and Central Methodist University, where he developed the competitive foundation he now brings to his student-athletes. His decade-plus of experience on the North Callaway sidelines has given him an intimate understanding of the program, the culture, and the students he will now lead.

McKee and his wife Mariah — who serves as North Callaway's head softball coach — have been married since 2012 and are the proud parents of two boys, Tate, age 10, and Asa, age 5. The McKee family is deeply woven into the fabric of North Callaway athletics.

"I am excited about the opportunity to continue developing student athletes and to provide them with every opportunity to succeed, not only in competition, but in life,” McKee said.

“Coach McKee has played a critical role for our softball and baseball programs for many years,” Superintendent Dr. Kenya Thompson said. “His commitment to our kids, his knowledge of the game, and his deep roots in this community make him the perfect person to lead our baseball program. We are thrilled to see him step into this role."
