Paris girls best season in five years nets three award winners
The Paris girls basketball season was unlike any in recent memory.
The Lady Coyotes qualified for their first district championship game since winning a district title in the 2019-20 season and also achieved a 20-win season for the first time since 22 wins in the 2018-19 season. Reese Sutton and Melanie Moore were each named first team all-Lewis and Clark Conference member and all-district members in Class 2 District 5, and Alyssa Webb made the all-conference second team.
Sutton averaged 13.7 points per game, 9.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.1 steals and Moore averaged 12 points per game, four rebounds, 3.6 assists and four steals. The junior and sophomore, respectively, will return to a team that finished with a 20-9 record and lost to Clopton 55-34 in the district championship game.
Webb 6.5 points per game, 3.6 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.5 steals while providing senior leadership and another post option along with Sutton to give opposing defenses some concern.
