Mexico didn't give many free chances on Friday at home.
The Bulldogs took advantage of quite a few free chances, however, in their 11-1 five-inning victory over Eldon (5-1). They walked 13 times but walked Eldon twice. Kaden Benne pitched five innings with six strikeouts and two hits and had one RBI at the plate. Drew DeMint walked three times and had two RBIs, and Chance McCarty went 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Zach Jahn, Brayden Arnold, Gatlin Denham and Kinser Groves each had one RBI.
Mexico plays Southern Boone (3-2) at 10 a.m. Saturday at Southern Boone in Ashland and stays in the same location for a 1 p.m. game against Owensville (1-4).
