The nine-game losing streak is over for Mexico girls soccer.
After winning their first two games of the season, the Lady Bulldogs hit a cold spell before beating North Central Missouri Conference and district rival Fulton 4-1 on Thursday at Chris Hotop Field. Fulton (0-8, 0-4 NCMC) scored first in the sixth minute. Gwen Walker answered for Mexico (3-9, 1-4 NCMC) with a goal in the 28th minute on an assist from Marali Herrera-Amaya, and Walker scored again in the 43rd minute to start a three-goal second half for Mexico. In the final minute, Bailey Christianson scored after a corner kick was placed in front of Fulton's net, and Kaili Cox put in a corner kick. The Lady Bulldogs outshot Fulton 14-11, and Cassandra Young had seven saves.
Mexico hosts Jefferson City (4-6) at 5 p.m. Friday.
