Mexico was aggressive in the Chris Hotop Classic but couldn't pick up a win on Saturday.
After losing 9-0 to MICDS in the morning, the Lady Bulldogs outshot district foe Owensville 25-16 but lost 4-1 in the third-place game. Gwen Walker scored for Mexico (2-2) in the 51st minute to cut Owensville's lead in half. Holly Adams had already scored twice for the Dutchgirls (2-2) but then Cheyenne Nixon put in two goals. Owensville goalkeeper Riley Grube made 12 saves.
Mexico plays at district foe Wright City (1-2) at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
