Maggie Ramsey had run on a state stage but not a state track stage before Saturday.
The Mexico senior and four-time state cross country qualifier competed for the first time at the Class 4 state meet at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City and was one of 16 girls to run in the 3200. Ramsey was the first Mexico girl to run in the state 3200 since Jami Brandow in 2014. She finished 15th with a time of 12:40.74 to slot one spot higher than her seeding. Ramsey rose as high as 13th place at the 1600 mark with a time at that point of 6:07.11.
