It was difficult to stop Pacey Reading on a basketball court this season.
That made the idea of the Van-Far senior not playing in college difficult to believe. Reading signed to play for Hannibal-LaGrange University during a ceremony on Wednesday afternoon at Van-Far High School. Van-Far's leading scorer and rebounder was named the Class 2 District 5 player of the year after earning a unanimous selection to the Eastern Missouri Conference team, giving him all-conference and all-district nods every year since sophomore year. Before Reading goes to study business, Reading averaged a career-high 21.3 points per game, 8 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 51 percent shooting from the floor and 41 percent shooting from 3-point territory this season. In his four-year career as an Indian, Reading averaged 15.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 1.3 steals, 45 percent shooting and 35 percent 3-point shooting and has 1,739 points, 632 rebounds and 243 3-pointers.
