That makes it 4-0 against district opponents.
Community R-6 is also 1-0 against the Central Activities Conference after winning its conference opener 13-2 in five innings against Madison (0-7, 0-2 CAC) on Friday at Mexico High School. The Trojans (5-2, 1-0 CAC) couldn't play on their field because of wet field conditions but made sure they didn't have to borrow Mexico's field too long by scoring seven runs in the first inning and stealing 10 bases in the game. Houston Hogan pitched five innings in his season mound debut with five strikeouts, two hits, one earned run and one walk. Hogan also had the two-RBI double that pushed the margin to 10 runs to satisfy the run-rule requirement. Cooper Rohan finished 2-for-4 with a RBI double, and Nik Crider, Kyler Swaim, Connor Maxwell and Kaiden Erdel each had one RBI.
Community hosts conference foe Slater (2-2) at 5 p.m. Monday.
