A house in the 400 block of Robinson Street suffered significant fire, smoke and heat damage Sunday from a living room fire. There were no reported injuries.
Mexico Public Safety responded at about 2:50 p.m. from a report of smoke coming from the home. The resident had reportedly left the residence about 15 to 20 minutes prior, and the fire was contained to the living room.
The fire reportedly started in the area of a living room chair. Smoking products were found near the chair. The fire was contained and extinguished in the living room, which suffered significant fire damage. The rest of the house had significant smoke and heat damage.
