Maggie Ramsey has quite a bit of state experience.
The Mexico senior had four years of state cross country experience to end her high school career, but she added a state track appearance to it. Ramsey finished fourth in the Class 4 Sectional 2 meet on Saturday at Orchard Farm High School in St. Charles to snag one of the top four spots to run at 3:35 p.m. this Saturday in the Class 4 state meet at Adkins Stadium in Jefferson City.
Ramsey ran a time of 12:26.48 at sectionals to improve on her district time by almost a minute and fall about 11 seconds behind her personal-best time set this season.
Fellow graduate Charlie Fisher came close to qualifying in the boys 200 with a fifth-place time of 22.73. Fisher finished sixth in the 100 with a time of 11.35.
District champion Seth Stevenson ran for a personal-best time of 10:15.50 in the boys 3200 but finished sixth to miss advancing as a freshman.
Tyler Stone threw 45.46 meters to finish sixth in the boys javelin to miss qualifying as a senior, and senior Alexandra Terry cleared 2.73 meters for seventh in the girls pole vault.
Along with Ramsey, Fisher, Stone and Terry are all signed with colleges for track and field.
