Anyone in 100 of the 114 counties of Missouri who wants a low-interest disaster loan from the Small Businesses Administration to assist them in recovery from 2019 floods must apply by April 7.
Small non-farm businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and most private nonprofit organizations of any size may apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster.
“Economic Injury Disaster Loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that cannot be paid because of the disaster’s impact,” said Tanya Garfield, director of the SBA's Disaster Field Operations Center-West said in a news release.
The interest rate is 4 percent for businesses and 2.75 percent for private nonprofit organizations with terms up to 30 years.
Entities in all central Missouri counties are eligible for the loans. The only counties in Missouri where entities are not eligible are Atchison, Dent, Holt, Howell, Iron, Madison, Nodaway, Oregon, Ozark, Pemiscot, Polk, Reynolds, Shannon and Taney.
