As research continues to emphasize the importance of physical activity, social engagement, and healthy lifestyles for seniors, Mexico and its surrounding areas are coming together to provide comprehensive support for the elderly. In line with this initiative, the Senior Expo is set to take place at the Mexico Area Family YMCA on April 4, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., offering a platform to showcase services and products geared towards enhancing the lives of seniors.
Organized by the Health Leadership Team, the Senior Expo aims to highlight various opportunities for quality senior living through recreation, technology, and education. This free event will bring together companies and organizations offering a wide array of services, ranging from transportation and meal assistance to banking and home improvement, all with a common mission of improving the lives of seniors.
The gymnasium of the Mexico Area Family YMCA will host vendor booths, allowing attendees to explore and engage with providers at their own pace. Attendees can collect informational materials, ask questions, and learn about new services available in the community.
"The Senior Expo is not just about providing information; it's about fostering a sense of community and well-being among our elderly population," states Brooke Oliver, YMCA CEO and member of the Health Leadership Team. "We want seniors to feel empowered to explore new activities, expand their social circles, and access the support they need to lead fulfilling lives." She added.
The event wouldn't be possible without the generous support of its sponsors. Jackson Street Drug, United Credit Union, Community Loving Care Hospice, Homebank, Senior Health Consultants, and the Audrain County Health Department have all contributed to making the Senior Expo a reality, demonstrating their commitment to promoting healthy aging and community well-being.
Whether you're a senior seeking information and resources or a caregiver interested in exploring options for your loved ones, the Senior Expo promises to be an informative and enriching experience for all. Mark your calendars and join us at the Mexico Area Family YMCA on April 4, as the community comes together to celebrate and support our aging population.
