SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday will completely restrict visitors. This measure is temporary to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, according to a news release.
There are a couple exceptions. Visitors over 18 may still be allowed on a case-by-case basis if they are there for compassionate care or end-of-life decisions. Pediatric patients will be allowed one parent or guardian visitor.
If a visitor meets criteria under the new guidelines, they will be asked to complete a health screening inclusive of travel history and temperature.
In addition to these visitor guidelines, the hospital is implementing employee screenings on March 24. All employees and physicians will undergo a health screening and temperature check on a daily basis, the news release stated.
