Mexico
In Mexico’s first meet, it had several win events on April 1 at North Callaway in Kingdom City.
Alexandra Terry won the girls pole vault with a mark of 2.55 meters, Tyler Grimes won the boys 800 meters with a time of 2.07, and the boys 4x400 meter relay team of Grimes, Damarion Williams, Davontae Frame and Charlie Fisher won with a time of 3:34.75. The Mexico boys finished fourth out of 14 schools in the team standings with 75 points.
For the boys, Fisher was second in the 100 and 200 meters and ran respective personal-best times of 11.1 and 23.02, and the 4x100 relay team of Fisher, Frame, Grimes and Marquise Anyaeto was second.
For the girls, Emma Seibert was second in the 300 meters, and the 4x400 relay team of Seibert, Terry, Raegan Frappier and Jordan Gipson was second.
Centralia
Centralia had many winners and some records broken at North Callaway.
Ethan Ross broke two school records when he won the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.90 and the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.25 and won the long jump with a mark of 6.65 meters. The Centralia boys finished first in the team standings with 165 points, and girls were second with 134 points, which was behind winner St. Dominic’s 169 points.
For the boys, Peyson Bryson won the 400 meters with a 54.07, Nolan Spickert won the the 1600 with a 4:47.48 and was followed behind by Wesley Robertson in second with a 4:48.84 and Carter Moss in third with a 4:52.38. Moss won the 3200 with a 10:43.65 followed by Jensen Decker in second with a 11:01.23 and Zane Deckerd in third with a 11:04.08. Tilmon Sontheimer won the discus with a mark of 46.58 meters, and the 4x800 relay team of Spickert, Robertson, Moss and Dryst Bostick won with a time of 8:50.86. The 4x200 relay team of Bryson, Jacob Beard, Jesse Caballero and Cody Prater was second, Bryson was third in the high jump, Josh Russell was third in the discus and Bostick was third in the javelin.
For the girls, Becca Erisman won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 51.95, Katy Asbury won the triple jump with a mark of 9.8 meters, Addison Reynolds won the javelin with a mark of 36.35 meters and Cora King won the shot put with a mark of 10.49 meters. Erisman was second in the 200 meters and second in the long jump, Kenedee Moss was third in the 3200 meters, the 4x200 relay team of Asbury, Avery Adams, Madalyn Banker and Sadie Bohlmeyer was third, Claire Page was third in the pole vault, King was second and Kassena Ridgel was third in the discus, and Emery Auck was second in the javelin and third in the shot put.
Community R-6
The top girls performers for Community R-6 at North Callaway were Adriana Woodson finishing ninth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20.09, and Kat Meyer finishing 13th in the 400 meters with a time of 1:13.21.
The top boys finishers were the 4x100 relay team of Colton Peak, KaTavyn Wheeler, Nicholas Henke and Ezra Johnson with a ninth-place time of 52.21, and Kyler Kobush in the 800 meters with an 11th-place time of 2:50.91.
Van-Far
Evan Utterback had the top finish for Van-Far at North Callaway with a second-place throw of 43.74 meters in the javelin and was seventh in the shot put. For the boys, Garrett Hopke was fifth in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:16.92.
For the girls, the 4x400 relay team of Carly Hunn, Trinity Skwirtz, Emily Smith and Erin Childs finished fifth with a time of 4:59.78, and the 4x200 relay team of Smith, Skwirtz, Kenya Jones and Kylie Dameron finished sixth with a time of 2:03.63. Childs finished eighth in the 300-meter hurdles, and Smith was ninth in the 400 meters.
North Callaway
The top performers for North Callaway at its home event last week was on the girls side, starting with Grace Rasmussen finishing third in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:13.53 and was also fifth in the 400. Cora Tripp was fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, Madyson Gordon was fourth in the pole vault, Alexandra Craighead was sixth in the 300 hurdles and seventh in the 100 hurdles, and Bailey Hill was ninth in the shot put.
For the boys, Emerson Reinhard was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:34.80. Collin Moore was eighth in the long jump, and Cade Miller was 11th in the 100 and 200 meters.
