Mexico had several champions and all-conference medalists on Thursday in Moberly.

Four athletes won events to be North Central Missouri Conference champions for Mexico including Maggie Ramsey in the girls 1600 and 3200 with respective times of 5:54.07 and 12:51.71, Charlie Fisher in the boys 200 with a time of 23.12, Tyler Grimes in the boys 800 with a time of 2:04.78 and Andrew Peuster in the 3200 with a time of 10:28.29. Tyler Stone was all-conference after finishing top three in the boys javelin but also broke the school record with a throw of 40.48 meters.

Alexandra Terry finished in the top three of the girls pole vault to be all-conference with a second-place height of 2.9 meters. Fisher was also all-conference in the boys 100 with a time of 11.37. Stone was second in the boys javelin and the boys 4x400 relay team of Fisher, Grimes, Davontae Frame and Damarion Williams finished second with a time of 3:34.75.

Centralia boys win Clarence Cannon Conference title

Centralia earned some championships on Monday at its conference meet in Palmyra.

The Panthers are the Clarence Cannon Conference champions with 219 points — more than 100 points above Palmyra — and the Lady Panthers finished second with 150 points, which was behind South Shelby’s 176.5 points. Ethan Ross is the conference boys athlete of the year after earning the most points by winning championships in the 100, 200, 400 and the long jump. 

Ross ran respective 100, 200 and 400 times of 11.03, 22.84 and 50.42 and had a long jump distance of 6.62. Nolan Spickert is the boys 1600 and 3200 champion with CCC meet record times of 4:28 and 9:43.83, Dryst Bostick is the boys 800 champion with a time of 2:05.21, Peyson Bryson is the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 42.51, Tilmon Sontheimer is the boys discus champion with a throw of 42.81 meters, the boys 4x400 relay team of Bostick, Bryson, Cody Prater and Wesley Robertson is the champion with a time of 3:34.33, and the boys 4x800 relay team of Bostick, Robertson, Spickert and Carter Moss is a champion with a time of 8:26.40. Spickert set the 3200 school record time of 9:38.03 a week prior in the Hermann Invitational.

For the girls, Kenedee Moss is the 3200 champion with a time of 12:18.20, Becca Erisman is the long jump champion with a distance of 5 meters, Cora King is the discus champion with a throw of 35.33 meters and the 4x800 relay team of Moss, Erisman, Katy Asbury and Elizabeth Romine is the champion with a time of 10:19.28. 

The other all-conference Panthers that finished in the top three individually and in the top two in relays were Robertson with a second place in the 800 and 1600, Moss with a second place in the 3200, Prater with a third place in the 300 hurdles, Bryson with a third place in the high jump, Logan Rosenfelder with a third place in the triple jump, Jacob Beard with a second place in the pole vault, Josh Russell with a third place in the discus, Bostick with a second place in the javelin, and Sontheimer with a second place in the shot put. 

The other all-conference Lady Panthers were Sadie Bohlmeyer with a third place in the 100, Erisman with a second place in the 200 and 300 hurdles, Asbury with a third place in the 400, Moss with a third place in the 1600, Clare Brinkman with a second place in the high jump, Claire Page with a second place in the pole vault, King with a third place in the shot put, and the 4x100 relay team was second.

Community R-6’s Welch conference javelin champion

Drake Welch proved to be the best among Central Activities Conference javelin throwers.

The Community R-6 senior finished first in the boys javelin with a throw of 42.56 meters on April 30 at the Central Activities Conference meet in Glasgow. Welch was also all-conference in the shot put by finishing in the top three with a second-place throw of 11.82 meters.

The boys 4x200 relay team of Ezra Johnson, KaTavyn Wheeler, Nicholas Henke and Lane Carter finished third with a time of 1:46.11, and Adriana Woodson finished third in the girls 100-meter hurdles with a time of 19.73. 

Van-Far, North Callaway combine for handful of all-conference nods

Van-Far and North Callaway had several kids earn recognition at Friday’s Eastern Missouri Conference meet.

The top two in each event were all-conference and the top six earned medals. Van-Far had Garrett Hopke and Khloe Wallace make the all-conference team with respective personal-best times of 10:45 and 5:47 in the boys 3200 and girls 1600. North Callaway had Madyson Gordon win the girls pole vault with a height of 2.35 meters, Jocelyn Siegel win the girls triple jump with a distance of 10.36 meters and Lia Bondurant finish second in the girls high jump with a height of 1.45 meters.

Van-Far medalists included Kenya Jones with a fourth place in the girls javelin, Erin Childs with a fifth place in the girls 300 hurdles, Trinity Skwirtz with a fifth place in the girls 800, the girls 4x100 relay team with a fifth-place finish and the girls 4x200 relay team with a sixth-place finish. Also, Evan Utterback had a third place in the boys javelin and a fourth place in the shot put, and Jackson Fisher had a fifth place in the boys javelin.

North Callaway medalists included Grace Rasmussen with a third place in the girls 1600, Alexandra Craighead with a fourth place in the girls 300 hurdles, a fifth place in the high jump, a sixth place in the 100 hurdles and Megan Schmidt with a fifth place in the girls pole vault. The girls 4x400 relay team was fifth, and the girls 4x100 relay team was sixth. Gunnar Wenneker had  a third place in the boys discus, Collin Moore took a fifth place in the boys triple jump, Alex Hudnell received a sixth place in the boys shot put and the boys 4x400 relay team was fifth.

Chapman, Kendrick high point awards lead Paris conference champions

Paris had plenty of champions on Monday on its home track.

The Lewis and Clark Conference meet was in Paris, and the home team finished with 12 conference champions -- 8 for the girls -- and two earn the high point awards for the highest scoring individual athletes. Mia Kendrick earned the high point award on the girls side after winning the 100, 200, long jump and the 4x200 relay with Sophia Crusha, Gretchen Crusha and Ava Crain. Landen Chapman earned the boys high point award after winning 800, 1600, 3200 and 4x800 relay with Logan Mitchell, Owen Buie and Hayden DeOrnellas.

Kendrick had a 100 time of 13.04, 200 time of 26.35 and 4x200 relay time of 1:49.83 and a long jump distance of 5.19 meters. Ava Crain won the 1600 with a time of 6:38.20 and the pole vault with a height of 2.58 meters, Sophia Crusha won the 800 with a time of 2:36.20, and the 4x800 relay team of Khloee Hendren, Kaylee Johnson, Lily Wheaton and Midori Williams was the champion with a time of 11:22.57. 

The others girls who finished in the top three of events to earn all-conference honors were Ava Crain with a second place in the 400, Johnson with a second place and Williams with a third place in the 3200, and Addie Crain with a third place in the 100 hurdles.

Chapman had an 800 time of 2:02.70, a 1600 time of 4:33.35, 3200 time of 10:48.18 and 4x800 relay time of 8:40.23.

The other boys to finish in the top three for all-conference honors were Kaleb Romans with a third place in the 100, Zarrian Turner with a third place in the long jump, Brady Shivers with a second place in the javelin, the 4x200 relay team of Shivers, Turner, Tim Woodward and Jackson Davis with a second place, and the 4x400 relay team of Mitchell, Woodward, Buie and Turner with a third place.

McBride wins 400 for Missouri Military Academy in California

Alex McBride won the 400 for Missouri Military Academy on Thursday at the Guy Rush Invitational in California with a time of 54.08.

McBride finished in the top three to medal in the 200 with a third-place time of 23.27, and Jesus Robinson was third in the 3200 with a time of 11:21.53.
