The U.S. Department of Agriculture has launched a Rural Development COVID-19 resource page to keep the communities it serves updated on actions taken to help people in rural areas deal with the pandemic coronavirus.
The page includes links to actions taken by the agency, which supports housing, business creation and community infrastructure in rural areas, to help people and businesses that have lost income.
For example, the agency imposed a 60-day moratorium on foreclosures on March 19, with allowances for borrowers in default or imminent default to have payments reduced or suspended for up to 12 months.
The page will be updated regularly with new information and can be found at rd.usda.gov/coronavirus.
