Van-Far football took another step this season.
The Indians won eight games and had many earn all-Eastern Missouri Conference selections, including their three unanimous first team members: receiver Gaven Gaston, offensive lineman Jackson Fischer and defensive lineman Evan Utterback. The first team members were Tyson Douglas at running back and linebacker and Fischer at defensive lineman, and the second team members were offensive lineman Easton Sharp, Utterback at fullback/tight end and Pacey Reading at defensive lineman.
Gaston finished with 475 yards on 23 catches and 12 total touchdowns, Fischer and Sharp blocked for an offense that ran for 2812 yards on 389 carries for a 7.2 average and Utterback had 37 tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks and two fumble recoveries. Fischer had 39 tackles, 22 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on defense, and Utterback finished with 337 yards on 66 carries, averaging 5.1 yards per carry, and scored six touchdowns.
Douglas ran 1,200 yards on 115 carries for a 10.4 average and scored 16 total touchdowns on offense and had 35 tackles and 27 solo tackles on defense.
Reading had 39 tackles, 27 solo tackles, 5.5 sacks, 3.5 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries and one interception.
