Mexico split a Friday night triangular in Centralia after similar results on Thursday at home.
Individually, Keith Ranson, Terrell Williams and Jokiah Sewell dominated the Friday night event in their weight classes.
Ransom pinned Zane Dubes in the Centralia round at 126 and earned a 3-0 decision to top Sullivan’s Dillon Witt. Williams outlasted Centralia’s Khader Saleh, 10-6, and took a major decision win against Franky Erxleben of Sullivan.
Sewell wrestled at 182 in the Centralia round, pinning Hunter Phillips. He was at his familiar 170 facing Sullivan and Bennett Sherrell, where he again won by fall.
Ricardo Juarez split on the night, his win at 120 coming over Sullivan’s Dominic Ransom by fall. Keegan Koons was also 1-1, taking down Sullivan’s John Johnson at 3:20 in the 106 class.
Dylan Mosley suffered a narrow loss by decision in the Centralia round but felled Sullivan’s Adam Peregoy at 1:40 in the 138 class.
Cameron Beasley lost his only 152 match. Centralia presented no opposition. Morgan Grubb and Caleb Prater also won by forfeit against the Panthers but lost their matches to Sullivan.
Deacon Haag and Emille Scanavino – the Bulldogs’ big guys – were 0-2 on the night.
The day before against Fulton and St. Charles West, Juarez, Ransom, Mosley, and Williams had successful evenings.
Juarez knocked won by fall and by major decision to sweep 120. Ransom recorded two pins, as did Mosley. Williams had a longer night, claiming both wins by decision.
Beasley and Scanavino were also unbeaten, but each faced only one opponent. They both put their man on the mat.
Gavyn Martin, Haag, Grubb, Prater and Koons were winless.
