Before cross country districts on Oct. 31 at Van-Far, Community R-6 is running at its best.
At the Hermann Invitational on Oct. 6, Kyler Kobush ran his season-best with a time of 23:02. Nicholas Henke ran his second-best time of 24:05 in Hermann, but his season-best happened at Wellsville on Sept. 21 with a time of 23:39 and was seconds away from beating his personal record of 22:20 in 2024.
Gabby Knipfel also ran her season-best at Wellsville with a time of 28:26 and was near her PR of 27:24 in 2025.
Henke and Grace McCoskey were both recognized on Fall Senior Night on Oct. 5. Each of them has participated in cross country all four years of high school. McCoskey’s season-best time was 30:16 in Wellsville, and her PR was 27:26 in 2025.
“It has been fun to see them grow as runners and people over these four years,” head coach Josie Gittemeier said.
