Centralia girls pull away late in 57-43 win at Macon

Macon fought back before halftime, but the Centralia girls didn’t allow them to come any closer.

After leading 24-22 at halftime, the Lady Panthers outscored the Clarence Cannon Conference Lady Tigers (7-13, 0-4 CCC) 33-21 in the second half for a 57-43 win — their eighth-straight victory and third straight conference win — over one of their district opponents.

Braylin Brunkhorst led Centralia (19-3, 3-2 CCC) with 14 points, Jozelynn Bostick followed with 11 points and eight rebounds, and Annie Robinson had 10 points to round out the ones in double figures. Raegan Anderson and Katie Carrico weren’t too far behind with eight points each.

Centralia plays at conference foe Monroe City (8-14, 2-2 CCC) on Friday prior to going to Southern Boone (15-7) on Tuesday.

The boys lost 57-50 at Macon, resulting in a better finish than their 60-41 defeat by the Tigers (17-4, 4-0 CCC) in the Centralia tournament earlier this season. Centralia (12-9, 3-2).
