Centralia girls’ middle quarters enough in 46-43 win at Bowling Green

Winning two of four quarters was enough Tuesday night in Bowling Green for the Centralia girls.

After falling behind 11-8 after the first quarter, the Lady Panthers outscored Bowling Green 29-16 in the second and third quarters to build a 37-27 lead in the eventual 46-43 victory.

Jozelynn Bostick led with 19 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals, Raegan Anderson followed with nine points, and Braylin Brunkhorst finished with seven points and five rebounds.

Bowling Green (5-7) outscored the Lady Panthers 16-9 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Centralia’s third straight win.

Centralia (9-2) travels to Russellville for a 6 p.m. game on Friday.

Panthers fall 58-54 in overtime at Bowling Green

The Centralia boys executed down the stretch in its previous game, but Tuesday was a different story.

The Panthers went into their holiday break in a nice way with a 42-41 win at district foe Moberly, but in their first game back from break on Tuesday, they lost 58-54 in overtime at Bowling Green (4-5).

Centralia (5-5) led 20-17 at halftime prior to the Bobcats overtaking them 29-28 after three quarters and edging the Panthers in the overtime period.

We didn't execute down the stretch, and we gave this game away,” head coach Scott Humphrey said. “This is one we will have to learn from and hopefully not let happen again.”

Cullen Bennett led Centralia with 19 points, Logan Rosenfelder followed with 18 points and Noah Kropf had eight points.

Centralia plays at Russellville (4-7) at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
