Centralia softball had too much ground to make up on Tuesday.

The Lady Panthers lost 12-4 at home to Blair Oaks as they allowed 14 hits, including four RBI by Belle Boessen via a RBI double and three-RBI home run.

The Boessen home run broke a 4-4 tie in the fifth inning after Tilly Fox made 4-1 Centralia in the second inning with a RBI single. Kaelyn Walters hit a game-tying home run in the first inning to knot the score at 1 and to give her second home run of the season. Walters also broke her own school record for stolen bases in a game, swiping 5 bags.

Blair Oaks’ Ava Willson came through with a two-out RBI single to tie the game at 4 in the third inning. The Lady Falcons (2-2) added five more runs in the seventh inning against Jaylynn Brown, who finished with nine strikeouts in seven innings.

Cora King had two RBI for Centralia (3-4), and Madi Johnson picked up two hits for the Lady Panthers.

Centralia played at Battle with Columbia Independent on Thursday before playing at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at Clarence Cannon Conference foe Highland.
