The Community R-6 boys had much more positives on Dec. 21.
After the Trojans lost their season opener, they followed up with a 55-37 victory at Wellsville Middletown. Community (1-1) held Wellsville (0-1) to eight first-half points to take a 33-8 halftime lead.
"As a whole, I feel like we played well and executed on both offense and defense and took a lot of positive energy into the game which I feel helped in our victory," head coach Kody Asquith said.
Freshman Caden Thomas led the Trojans with 12 points, seven steals and five assists. Senior Mason Carroll followed with 11 points, and freshman Brett Beamer matched that scoring total.
Community hosts Marion County (2-0) at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
