A student who participated in an international exchange program in 1968 wants to contact the Mexico family that hosted her.
Marcela Gonzalez Gonzalez from Santiago, Chile, was a Youth for Understanding exchange student in 1968 at Mexico High School. She stayed with the Wegener family, and Carol was her host sister, along with an older sister named Susan.
Marcela’s sister, Tere, recently reconnected with a family that hosted her in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Tere and Marcela still live in Chile.
Anyone with information can contact Mary Kae Heinzel of Peoria, Illinois, who was part of the host family for Tere, by calling 309-363-5116 or emailing MaryKae6@gmail.com.
