The Laura Miller George Help Center’s thrift store was closed Wednesday to help prevent the potential spread of the new coronavirus.
Food Distributions will continue. The Monday Sharing Food with our Neighbors program in indefinitely canceled.
Distribution days are 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays and 3-6 p.m. Fridays. All distributions will occur at the back of the building and will be a drive-through distribution.
Help Center staff will come out to one’s vehicle, ask for name and birth date and guide you to a parking spot. Staff will verify the information, and then bring out a food package. It is asked that people who receive distributions do not leave their vehicle.
New participants still are welcome and can receive food on the same day after completing an application.
Due to high demand, each family is only allowed one distribution per month.
