Five runs weren't enough in the first inning for Mexico on Tuesday at Gallop Field.
That ended up being fine for the Lady Bulldogs as they defeated North Central Missouri Conference foe Marshall (9-11, 5-4 NCMC) 11-7 in a game that was rescheduled from an earlier postponement due to weather. Mexico finished with 14 hits, including 3-for-4 days each from Nos. 2-4 hitters Maddy Feger, Landri Teel and Payton Shaw. Feger had two RBI, Teel had two RBI and a double, Shaw had three RBI and two doubles, and leadoff hitter Hannah Loyd went 2-for-4 with a triple, double and one RBI. Keerstan Ewing allowed seven unearned runs via five errors and eight hits and had a two-RBI single at the plate.
Mexico (10-12, 4-3 NCMC) plays at conference foe Moberly (7-13, 3-4 NCMC) at 5 p.m. Thursday.
