Mexico senior goalkeeper Emille Scanavino was named to the Class 2 Region 2 team, and Missouri Military Academy had junior Avin Hernandez and sophomore Carlos Ontiveros named all-region in Class 1 Region 2 and were added to the Class 1 all-state team -- Hernandez as a second-team defender and Ontiveros as a midfielder honorable mention.
Scanavino was already named all-conference in the North Central Missouri Conference and had another award credited to his name after a season in which he made 170 saves. He ends his high school career with 622 saves for the sixth-most in the MSHSAA record books.
Ontiveros was one of MMA’s strongest attackers and Hernandez was one of the team’s strongest defenders. Ontiveros and Hernandez were each named all-district after seasons in which Ontiveros tied for the team-high in goals at seven and Hernandez finished with 19 steals.
