Missouri Military Academy (MMA) Colonels Football will be under new leadership in fall 2022 — the Academy has selected Robert Rosenbaum to serve as head football coach.
A former Marine, Rosenbaum has been coaching high school football for more than 15 years and has experience coaching with the Pop Warner football league in Kansas City. He played football at the college and semi-pro level and within the Marine Corps.
Rosenbaum says his football philosophy is simple: team first.
“Team unity is the only way you win. To succeed, everyone must be going in the same direction,” he says. “You build on that core.”
Rosenbaum looks forward to working with the high school players at MMA, within an environment known for structure, accountability, and self-discipline. He emphasizes that he expects players to be disciplined, have respect, and maintain a positive attitude.
“As their coach, I’ll be there for the players in return,” he says. “We want to motivate them, provide structure, and teach them the skills and lessons they need to know to be successful — on the field and off.”
MMA athletic director Brian Meny says that “Coach Pops” (as Rosenbaum is often referred to by players) brings a wealth of experience to the football field for MMA.
“He is a coach who has built programs into successful winners,” says Meny. “I am excited for MMA and the opportunity for our cadets and coaching staff to learn from him.”
Meny affirms Rosenbaum’s vision for the Colonels’ football program. “His motto is team first with discipline, structure and accountability for all. We are looking forward to seeing our cadets be challenged and succeed by working with him,” Meny says.
“Building competitive athletic programs is an important part of building resilience and confidence in our cadets,” says Missouri Military Academy President Brigadier General Richard V. Geraci, USA (Ret). “With Coach Rosenbaum’s experience and demonstrated leadership, I expect our cadets to grow and flourish individually and as a team.”
