Missouri Military Academy wins crosstown game at Mexico 6-1

It was Missouri Military Academy's turn on Thursday night.

MMA and Mexico have alternated wins and losses over the past seven meetings now following a 6-1 victory by Class 1 No. 2 MMA (8-2) at Chris Hotop Field in Mexico. The Colonels dominated with their shot advantage at 33-4. Fernando Puebla and Emilio Perez each scored two goals, and Alex McBride and Triet Bui each had a goal. For Mexico (5-6), its only goal happened in the 20th minute off a Marcos Matuz free kick from half field that went as an assist to a diving Alex Rodridguez after he knocked it in. Grant Walker made 16 saves for Mexico. The junior varsity squads tied at 2.

Mexico (1-4 NCMC) hosts North Central Missouri Conference foe and Class 2 No. 5 Marshall (12-2, 5-1 NCMC) at 6:30 p.m. Monday while MMA plays at Father Tolton (5-7) at 10 a.m. Saturday.
