On Thursday, Dec. 21, at approximately 6:49 a.m., Mexico Public Safety Department (MPSD) responded to a business in reference to someone who had just stolen some alcohol. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle at a home around the 700 block of North Western Street. It was determined that the adult residents were not home but some juvenile family members were. Also in the home were two 20 year-old males from Columbia, and a 17 year-old male and 15 year-old male from Mexico. Investigation revealed that the car had been reported stolen in Columbia in August. Everyone was taken to MPSD and eventually released to responsible family members. The investigation is ongoing to determine what charges will be forwarded to the Audrain County Prosecutor or the Juvenile Office.
