A waiver request from the Missouri Department of Social Services was approved Wednesday to extend Pandemic Food Stamp/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits through September.
Households will receive the maximum amount based on size, according to a news release. Benefits will automatically be loaded to the electronic benefit transfer, or EBT, card.
There were 372,799 households or 777,885 individuals who received benefits in July.
“Thanks to the ’Show Me Strong’ Recovery Plan, an increasing number of Missourians are seeing their lives return to normal,” Missouri Department of Social Services Acting Director Jennifer Tidball said in the release. “Ensuring Missourians remain healthy and strong throughout this recovery is at the heart of that plan and extra food dollars play a vital role in meeting the nutritional needs of individuals and families.”
Residents can use the Missouri Services Navigator to find more information about more than 2,800 state program and services, according to the release. Information on food stamps, Medicaid, child care subsidies and more is available through Department of Social Services website.
