The Columbia Police Department in a news release issued late Friday identified three men arrested after two shooting incidents earlier in the day.
Larry K. Brownlee Jr., 25, and Daravion Fajardo, 25, of Columbia were arrested after a police officer on patrol heard gunshots and saw a vehicle speeding away from Highland Avenue. The vehicle came to a stop in the 2500 block of Providence Road and the suspects fled on foot.
Brownlee and Fajardo were arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest for a felony. Both posted a $1,500 bond and were released from the Boone County Jail.
Julian J. Shumpert, 18, of Columbia, was being held Saturday on suspicion of first degree burglary, armed criminal action, first degree assault and possession of a controlled substance as a misdemeanor, for a burglary in the 100 block of Garth Avenue. No bond has been set.
Police responded to the burglary at 4:22 a.m. Friday and shots were reported while the officers were en route. One suspect was located at a hospital, where he was being treated for gunshot wounds. Shumpert was arrested and the wounded man will be questioned when he is released from medical treatment, a news release stated.
